J’ai donc acheté un panneau de particules à trous. Je me suis ensuite longuement interrogée sur la façon dont je le fixerais au mur. N’oubliez pas, un panneau perforé ne soit PAS être fixé directement au mur. Un espace libre entre le mur et le panneau est nécessaire afin d’installer les crochets.
Après avoir découvert l’explication qui suit http://www.diynetwork.com/how-to/how-to-install-a-pegboard/index.html, je l’ai adaptée et j’ai opté pour la solution des blocs de bois de 1 pouce par 2 pouces que mon cher conjoint et moi avons fixé verticalement sur les poutres qui soutiennent le mur de gypse avec de très longues vis. Nous avons ensuite vissé le panneau perforé aux blocs de bois. En mettant des blocs aux deux extrémités et au centre du panneau, le panneau perforé est stable et ne « rebondit » pas lorsque j’utilise un outil qui y est suspendu.
Mais avant tout cela, puisque je ne désirais pas avoir un look garage ou établi dans ma pièce de couture, j’ai décidé de peindre mon panneau de particule. J’ai débuté par une couche de fond au latex et j’ai ensuite ajouté deux couches de peinture au latex verte qui me restait d’une autre pièce. Notez cependant que vous devez absolument vous installer sur une toile ou sur un plastique étanche afin d’effectuer cette étape car la peinture passe par les trous ! J’ai également dû utiliser un petit couteau afin de « vider » les trous obstrués par la peinture.
Enfin, puisque je trouvais le look final de mon panneau de particule un peu nu, j’ai décidé d’y ajouter une moulure. J’ai donc acheté une moulure qui n’était pas très large. Mon cher amour a coupé les moulures à angle avec sa boîte à onglet. J’ai ensuite collé les moulures sur le panneau perforé avec de la colle à bois et je l’ai laissé sécher alors qu’une pile de livres empêchait les moulures de décoller (de serres iraient probablement mieux mais je n’en avais pas). Dès que ça a été sec, j’ai pu le fixer au mur.
J’ai trouvé les crochets pour mon panneau perforé chez mon quincaillier. Il ne vend malheureusement pas de petits paniers pour panneaux perforés, alors que je sais que ça existe http://hookstore.com/hookstore_closeouts_item.php?item=KB4KB10C&id=4, mais pour le moment ceci me convient.
So I bought a pegboard. Then I had to decide how I would fix it on the wall. Do not forget, a pegboard should NOT be installed directly on the wall. A space between the pegboard and the wall is necessary in order to install the hooks.

I’ve decided to use 1 by 2 inches strips of wood that my partner an I have screwed directly in the wall studs. After that, we have screwed the pegboard to the wood strips. By putting a wood strips at each end of the board and one in the middle, the pegboard does not bounce.
But before doing all of that, because I didn’t wanted a garage-look to my sewing room I’ve decided to paint my pegboard. I putted one layer of basecoat then two layers of a green latex paint that I had from another project. Please note that you should absolutely paint your pegboard on a watertight plastic because the paint goes through the holes of the pegboard! I also had to empty some holes that were filled with paint with a small knife.
Finally, I’ve decided to add a molding to my pegboard. I bought a narrow molding that my dear partner has cutted at the right angles with his miter box. I then glued the molding to the pegboard with wood glue and let it dry while under a pile of books (clamps would certainly be better but I didn’t had any). As soon as it was dry I’ve been able to install it on the wall.
I found some hooks for my pegboard at my hardware shop. Sadly it doesn’t sell the small pegboard’s bins, even if I know that it exist. http://hookstore.com/hookstore_closeouts_item.php?item=KB4KB10C&id=4 And for the moment, this is okay with me!
